Two different techniques are used to produce paste coloured glass: standard float or casting.
Available in bronze, gray, green and blue – green, the colour varies, however, depending on certain substances that, while melting, determine the tone (the intensity depends on the concentration and size of the particles).
In particular:
- iron oxide – blue-greenglass
- copper oxide – red –violetglass
- copper oxide – blue-greenglass
- cobalt oxide – deep blue glass
- colloidalgold and tin- pink–purple glass
- colloidalselenium and cadmium – yellow , orange– redglass
- cobalt – iron – selenium – bronze glass
- selenium – cobalt – iron – chromium – gray glass
Solar control and chromatic density vary with glass thickness.
