The Chinese New Year was celebrated from the 4th to the 10th February 2019, with the beginning of the year of the pig: the Chinese zodiac has a cycle of 12 years, each of them dedicated to a specific animal.
The New Year’s party is always characterized bythe red color and by loud noises, which are used to scare the legendary monster Nian, who comes out from his hiding place seeking children to eat; the year is characterized by the pink of the pig, a beloved animal for Chinese people because of its importance for the economy and for the sustenance of the population.
